About the Artist

Headshot of Kathy, the artist

Growing up, I found my sanctuary in drawing. If I wasn’t zipping around on my bike or perfecting my tennis serve against the garage door, you’d find me in my room, surrounded by pads of paper in every weight and texture imaginable. I’d have piles of pens, erasers, and evidence of my search for the perfect black pen. My prized possessions? A box of 64 classic crayons with the sharpener in the back and my trusty Flair Fi Fo Fum markers. Office Supply Afficionada?

My first ‘job’ was painting a mural on my neighbor’s fence, and though I flirted with a career in advertising after college, I found my true calling in illustrating greeting cards. Life takes twists and turns, and I soon found myself in board rooms and Zoom calls. Yet, my passion for drawing never wavered. Even today, I often find my meeting notes sprinkled with dashes, dots, and dabs of color. Designing Doodler?

After more turns and twists, here I am. For someone who has no sense of direction, I find myself having come full-circle. Drawing has once again become my refuge. I’m ready to shift my ink creations from notebooks to you. And am taking the plunge with Ink or Swim.

Join me on this colorful journey as I once again embrace creativity and joy in the every day of life.

And yes, the search for that elusive perfect black ink pen continues!
